IRON MAN

A film review by Orlando

The movie Iron Man was a great movie (Well, for me at least) because it features both romance and action. The story is like this: Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is a very rich and smart man. He is a scientist and owns “Stark Industries”. He went to a secret military base in “Kunar, Afghanistan” to demonstrate his new invented weapon: The Jericho. After demonstrating the power of The Jericho, he then went to the hills to look for debris of the weapon. On his way to the hills, he was ambushed by rebels that were his customer! He went outside of the Humvee to take cover from the fire. When he went out, he took hid behind a rock and called for some backup. But then, the rebels fired a missile that was still invented by Stark Industries which contained shrapnel metal (can penetrate through bulletproof vests). Even though Tony Stark was wearing a bulletproof vest, the debris from the missile still penetrated through his chest, which then caused bleeding.

After the incident, he was then kidnapped and confronted by the rebels. The rebel leader wanted Tony to build a Jericho Missile for the rebels, which then Tony lied to build one. But before this happened, he happened to be a roommate of a scientist + doctor that invented a device hooked to a car battery so that no shrapnel metal would penetrate the heart of Tony. After given the materials to build a Jericho Missile, the first thing he built was a Mini-Power Reactor that would serve as his New Heart (Look at the picture, see the glowing thing on his chest? That’s the one). So, after he built his new heart, he then analyzed the place they were in to look for some escape routes. After scanning the place, he built his first Iron Man suit (which was bulky and heavy, plus “Manual Operated”).

He finished building his first Iron Man suit and then escaped in a particular day with his friend. But, during their escape, his friend died. So, he was on his own. He managed to escape and crash landed to a safe place somewhere in the desert. His suit was destroyed, but he was alive. He was then rescued by the military after a short while.

The rebels looked for some traces of the suit, or better yet, the suit itself! Tony Stark left his suit somewhere in the desert, which was then found by the rebels. The rebels are now planning to improve Tony Stark’s design and use the suit to do their bidding.

Tony Stark, after being kidnapped by the rebels, realized how dangerous it is to manufacture and invent weapons for the world. So, what he did was; he ordered all of his inventions, and the weapons plant be destroyed. Tony Stark, not knowing that his production manager was the one selling his weapons to the rebels, built a new Iron Man suit. He improved the design, made it sleek and shiny, and then tested it. After testing it, he found some problems with the design which was when he climbed up high unto this sky, the suit froze because of the subzero temperatures located in the stratosphere. So he changed the design once again, but this time; he perfected the suit.

The rebels, which found the first Iron Man suit, were then betrayed by the friend of Tony Stark that wanted the suit. He then improved the design of the first Iron Man suit and threatened Tony Stark.

The two Iron “Men” were now fighting. Tony Stark defeated his friend by blowing up his reactor that is powering the whole Stark Industries. After this, he was interviewed by people. His friend told him to tell the people that he was Iron Man; so, he told them.

And that is my review of the Iron Man Movie.
